OptTek Systems, Inc., was awarded a $590,000 subcontract to CAS, Inc. a subsidiary of The Wyle Corporation to determine the best optimization engine approach and design and develop an optimization prototype to be used as a test platform for optimization studies. The optimization engine prototype shall include a user interface, a structure for the objective function and constraints, the capability to try different optimization algorithms, and a structure for plugging in models and simulations.
OptTek will analyze an existing Department of Defense (DoD) planning system and propose improvements and extensions to increase its fidelity and effectiveness. OptTek will also analyze interface requirements with various DoD simulation systems and evaluate the feasibility and cost of building web service interfaces for them.
