public class COptQuestWeibullRandomVariable
extends COptQuestUserControlledVariable

A random variable with a Weibull distribution, in its minimum extreme value form. Its value is positive, and it is often used for a time to failure. shape and scale must both be greater than 0:

• With shape less than 1, the failure rate decreases with time.
• With shape = 1, the failure rate is constant, and the distribution is the exponential distribution with the mean scale.
• With shape greater than 1, the failure rate increases with time.

The engine draws a new value at the start of every replication. The probability distribution is COptQuestWeibullDistribution.

Parameters:

name - the name/identifier of this random variable (used for reporting, logging, or display purposes)

shape - the shape parameter (k or β) of the Weibull distribution (> 0)

scale - the scale parameter (λ or α) of the Weibull distribution (> 0)
